WIP: the funny 404

It’s an old plugin of mine, like 2005… but i update it this winter so I can give you something to bite on.

What is it?

a 404 page that will help you bring attention to more than just missing pages on your site. Visitors will « want » to go to it… they will even participate in building its content, the fun way.

What it does?

simple, each time you visit the 404 page, a different « funny » message show up to tell you that the page is missing. So if you stick with this description, it’s a « Random Quote on 404 Page ».

But there is more, isn’t it?

sure, that’s the fun part. Visitors are invited to leave their mark by writing a « 404 » type sentence that they find nice/funny. Visitors can also browse the entire list of quotes left by other visitors.

Here are two examples:

Marvel type: 404 page not found: Not Even the Eye of Uatu sees your request…

Star Wars type: This is not the page you are looking for…

….

as it’s a WIP, i have no deadline for delivery of this plugin… maybe tomorrow, if i don’t mess with my 404!
