Another Advanced Product, Statistics and Tendencies

Did you ever dreamed to know exactly where are these posts and new users ??

vbEnhancer.com – Tendencies

This is what i am actually coding for Chris-777… actually he asked me the actual version of vbTrends from Hambil, but as i was planning a better engine, i decided to give it a go.

The inspiration comes from an engine i coded 2 years ago. Statpress™ which is a plugin for WordPress, was missing a logical overview chart, and i coded it for the author. here is a screenshot of it:

overview_statpress.jpg

And as i’m never happy with the existing codes in vB, i decided it was lacking a real Statistics engine, so i coded it, based on the structure of Statpress… it is not calculating the same things, but the functions are similar here.

… this engine is not really useful for the day-to-day users, so it is permissions based… you give access to the ones you think it could be useful to.

basically, this engine tells the reader if the site is growing, at what pace, and the plans for the next days… 🙂 good thing if you plan on selling your site or try to bring some sponsors.

this product will also have a little plugin in the forumhome statistics, resuming these elements, which will replace the vbTrends… in a day or two, if things go well… this first part was coded in 12 hours.

*wave*

Hi..

I’m Oblivion Knight from vb.org – kudos to you nexia for standing up for yourself.

Great fan of your work, and shall eventually get around to subscribing.

Regards.

Soft yellow Emoticons (W.I.P)

These emoticons (preview below) were started due to a member asking if there were similiar emoticons (animated) around to the ones he was using already to expand upon. I liked the theme of these emoticons and decided ro embark on a mini-project (this pack will consist of 50+ emoticons) with addon packs released in the future.

For the now, the previews below are in the w.i.p phase and although some of them looked to be duplicates they aren’t. Some have animation flaws which I corrected in later variations which you’ll notice (or maybe not if you haven’t got a keen eye) and I was looking for some feedback, suggestions and some constructive criticism.

Thankyou.

For those interested on the construction side and the layers used I posted a screenshot of the psd count (which is low by my standards) and the animation count. As you can see these emoticons are fully vectored (bar the brush layer which soon will be vectored because I like to be consistent.

Thumbs on Threadbits per forum

Will display thumbnails of last image attached in a thread, per forum. based on Jason’s work.

After importing the product, Go in your AdminCP >> vBulletin Options >> Forum Display Options (forumdisplay)

in the bottom of the page, you see:

Nexia’s Thumbs on Threadbits – FORUMIDS
Nexia’s Thumbs on Threadbits – ORDER

nex_thumbs_on_threadbits_admincp.jpg

… pretty self explanatory, isn’t it?

and the result look like this:

How free can be free stuff?

actually, this site is subscription based. people have to pay a minimal 10$ fee to access the features like download of freely available stuff and asking for support/requests.

this subscription is not ther eto pay for the releases but to pay the hosting, software etc… this is minimal, people do not understand how it cost to have such a site with thousands of hits per hour… (actually more than 25000 hits per day)

anyway, i was questioning myself at giving a Freebies section with free stuff for registered users, the ones who do not pay for the access. this spring, i had the site subscription-free, no payment needed, and there not that much downloaders anyway.. there is more downloaders now that the site is paid, so go figure…

people always whine when they have to pay, these leechers i do not care. what is important is to have coders and designers like you being respected for their work and retributed when it was obvious the work worth it. That being said, i decided to drop the subscription for coders willing to release their work here. I had a fight with the sponsor — which left after the fight — and i decided to review all the subscriptions… now there is only one.

but i’d like to debate the paid logic with the Acolytes, the ones who are to release stuff on the site… what are your thoughts about how it have to work?

there will be a « releases system » soon by the hand of Drew, a commercial script that let you have your own releases paid or free on the site, with a licenses tracker for your own stuff… and it will be way more productive and efficient than anyother systems, even the one from Jelsoft or aMember… so i suppose that your suggestions will help us release a better engine — each request could be an option, not hardcoded… 🙂

so yes, what do you think of the free stuff vs subscriptions?
