i often see people asking for features they do not really are interested in, but their members are… so do you answer your members requests, for any reason?

like some members ask for their account to be completely deleted… would you do it?

also, like most of the time where the arcades are pointless due to the site’s topic, would you install it just because your members want to play?

If you plan on calling for a task, job, contract, or anything to help you out on your forum, avoid these keywords:

pleeeeease
good money
long term relationship

at all cost
big money

… these words will make you go into oblivion. we already know you need help or support, we want to know the details, not your feelings.

act like adults, and use a proper english/french language when posting… we may not need the exact configuration of your server, we do not need your passwords, but we need to know what’s going on, in a human language.

NEVER PAY UPFRONT… even if a coder have a good reputation, wait for a first draft to make a deposit… the coder work for you, not the opposite. we suggest a 20% upfront payment when the proof of potential is made. we do not control what is to be done and how it is paid, but as you use the Credits engine, be safe, it’s your cash. We can track each transaction, but we’re not lurking at them all day long.

Webalizer is doing it, so i suppose it’s possible to read these stats we have internally for each account created for a domain ?

transfers, trafic, bandwidth, space usage, etc… is there a way to integrate this in a block in the adminCP panel?

By default: the forum deactivate the signature display when you have no signature created. if in the future you have a new signature, you will have to edit your posts by hand to re-activate that signature in your old posts.

This feature will automate this process by checking all your old posts and re-activating the signature display. the choice do the opposite too, because it’s a select that let you choose to alternately deactivate your siggy everywhere…

So when you edit your signature, you have a new choice:

And as you see in the screenshot, you have a new checkbox to enable/disable the display of signature when you edit/create a new message…

As usual, this product is without any template or file edit, so you just have to import the product, and that’s it!

note: if you have a major forum, like millions of posts, i suggest to avoid this hack, as it will lock the posts table when editing the signature field of each posts from a member… it may be long for a member with 10 000 posts!

in 2 days or so, i’ll make the site public… (ok, it is already, but nobody knows!)

for the concerned, it’s easy to see where they are going and where WE are heading… 🙂

ok, the situation is pathetic… they are hosted in a minimal classic setup, a single dedicated server. what is pathetic? they got a deal, long time ago, where they had good host at low cost. that means all the time that the host can decide to raise the package cost or close the hosting due to over-usage of bandwidth…

that’s what they got yesterday. it’s beed 3 weeks since they were noticed by their host that they have to move the site to some other big service… they took the advice too slow and they were closed without further notice because their service is too big… checking licenses, load of guest visitors, etc…

i have nothing about the host, they had to choose a bigger one. what i hate is the gadgets vbcredits.com use for license checking… expandable and over-use of callback, this is pathetic.

their license check is daily, one when you enter the admincp, the other in the daily cron. you can not avoid it as the engine is encrypted and do not work without these files. i talk about vbCommerce here, as vbCredit is not encrypted yet.

so they have a solid licenser… John was proud of it, and i told him that it would cause a lot of trafic and troubles… so there it is, their site is down, nobody can use their vbCommerce in the last 2 weeks, because they can not check their license, so a ton of sites are dependable to their own…

i NEVER want a crap like that.

Will block access to banned users profile and indicate a banned status in postbit.

It’s a strike, so it’s complete. Users will not have access to banned users profile, and will receive a notice instead:

There is also an indication in the postbit that the user was banned. the online icon will show locked, and the personal infos of the user will not be displayed:
