In my first years coding for vBulletin, i had to develop a lot of features that were requested by admins and members of the vb.org site… i started coding for 3.0, and since 3.5, i do not release my work anymore… but a lot of hacks i coded are now part or the newer releases of vBulletin… when the 3.5 version was released, more than 15 000 lines of my codes were mimic in the official release, so my work was done… i inspired enough the guys there, now it’s time for them to do more!

So here is a little list of things i coded in the first days… you can easily find these features in the newest versions of vBulletin.

Will display a link to directly edit any forum when you have the level to edit forums.

This quick addon will help to spare 3 clicks for any admin who is editing forums all the time. This is very handy when you have a day with multiple forums to edit… once the job is done, simply deactivate or uninstall the product so you are not bothered with the asterisks all day long..

The script will detect ADMINS only… it will activate the same way the AdminCP link display on the footer… so if you have access to the admincp link, you have access to this addon!

Two addons in one…

1- Add Style to attachment blocks in threads. You can decide where to display the attachments blocks in the postbit:

A simple action for moderators that can send a user in the Coventry List via a single action in the Postbit… can do the opposite and retrieve that user from coventry via the same action.

Permissions Based:

1- have to be moderator
2- can’t put a supermod to coventry if you are not an admin
3- can’t put a admin to coventry

when someone is in the coventry, moderators can still see the posts, so the system also add the link to get someone out of coventry…

This small addon will display the last time of activity for Offline buddies in your Buddy List (Contact Popup).

REASON: because i hate to not be able to see when my buddies were last online…

This is one of the few products i have that require a minimal file edit… because without it, there is no activity time…

note: october 15th 2009, edit of the product, will now show the username markup, so the style of the IM listing is greater…

ok, it’s good to have multi-language interface, all softwares do that… but multi-language content?!

if we select a good translator, like… pfft.. bablefish?!… why wouldn’t it be possible to have translated content on the fly when needed ?! tho the few users visiting other language sites, it would be flexible to use these translation systems to display the content in another language…
let’s say i have a single forum in my site where people talk in french… if an english speaking visitor want to overview the forum itself, a button can be given to « translate the content on the fly »…

it’s not an idea, it’s an obligation RIGHT NOW!
